Clarification on Wear: Not a Quality Issue
It is important to note that if silicone sheets are used in the following operating conditions:
Belt sliding surfaces
Long-term continuous scraping positions
High-frequency friction conveyor surfaces
then surface wear of the silicone sheet should be considered a normal material response caused by application mismatch, rather than a defect or quality problem.
In continuous sliding or high-frequency friction environments, materials are required to have strong surface abrasion resistance. Silicone sheets are not designed for such conditions. Even high-quality industrial-grade silicone sheets will experience accelerated wear when used in these applications.
